Janice Christy Obituary

Janice Kaye Christy MT. PLEASANT- Janice Kaye Christy, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 21, 2023. Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., at 5:00 pm. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. A private inurnment will be held in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens at a later date. Kaye was born August 3, 1946 in Sumter, South Carolina, daughter of the late Kenneth Earl Morris, Sr. and the late Janice Gamble Morris of Turbeville, South Carolina. She was a hard worker and loved people, working in both human resources and event planning. Her career spanned many years, most of them spent between B. L. Montague Co. (Sumter) and Crisp Hughes Evans LLP (Greenville), where she made and kept many dear friends. She could keep things and people straight, plan a party and wrap a gift like no other. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that loved her. Kaye will be remembered for the way she cared deeply for her family and friends, including her beloved four-legged companion, Mr. Marley. She is survived by her loving and devoted son, Kevin Morris Christy and daughter- in-law, Julie Santos Christy of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three precious grandchildren, Coleman Hunter Christy, Bryce Conlon Christy, Anna Kate Christy; and her dear brother, J. Wayne Morris, of Johns Island. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and loving husband, A. Wayne Christy, and brothers, Kenneth Earl Morris, Jr. and Eddie Patrick Morris.
