PARNELL, James Entered into eternal rest Friday, April 21, James LeeRoy Parnell, husband of Nell Rose Parnell of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The friends and family are invited to attend the funeral services of the former on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Stuhr's Mt. Pleasant Chapel at two o'clock p.m. Friends may call at Stuhr's Mt. Pleasant Chapel Monday between six and eight p.m. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. Parnell was born March 13, 1930 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Charles E. Parnell, Sr. and Luvilla Windham Parnell. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon and church elder. He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard after 37 years as the Eye Program Administrator, the Eye Man. He was a licensed optician and owned a small optical shop in Mt. Pleasant. After joining the Masons, Mr. Parnell rose to the position of Grand Master of the Etiwan Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nell Rose Church Parnell; children, Cynthia Rose Dawson and her husband Charles of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Deborah Dianne Haynes and her husband Robin of Lexington, SC, and James Michael Parnell of Berrian Springs, Michigan; his brother Charles E. Parnell, Jr. of Summerville, SC; sisters Margaret McGee of Olanta, SC, Emma Faircloth of Florence, SC and Barbara Moore of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Sarah Catherine Dawson, Caroline Maree Dawson, Liane Elizabeth Haynes, and Laura Christine Haynes.
