Catherine Brown Obituary

Hanahan -- Catherine "Caye" Brown entered into eternal rest March 26. She was born in Mineral Springs, NY on November 13, 1938 to James and Catherine Novak. She is survived by her husband, Gene Brown, brothers Jim (Beverly), Bruce (Cleo), her children, Cinda Koonz (Chett), Pat Douglas (Dena) and Michael Rhys. Grandchildren are James Douglas (Kerri), Vitoria Douglas and Dylann French-Rhys. Great grandchildren are JP Douglas III and Wyatt French. She was predeceased by a brother, Warren Novak.

Caye was a book keeper and office manager for ACSI.

She was a graduate of Mildred Elly College in Albany NY.

A highly energetic person, she helped construct the house where she spent her final 28 years. She enjoyed windsurfing, white water rafting, tubing down the river with her daughter and all forms of activity.

Caye was very accomplished in making clothing. For several years she was the leader of a knitting machine club.

She very outgoing and was a loving mother and wife. She was loved by all. We are all saddened by the loss of this wonderful person.

Per her request there will be no formal service. Guests are invited to share their memories of her. Gather at the gravesite for interment which will be on April 11 at the cemetery of St Paul's Episcopal Church, 316 W. Carolina Ave, Summerville, 29483. The time is yet to be determined. Afterwards, family will receive friends at the Brown residence, 9 Francesca Ave, Hanahan.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
