James was born December 28, 1943 in Mayfield, KY, a son of the late James Lee Burgess and La Rue Burgess. He honorably served in the United States Navy for 25 years and worked in Naval Communications. James loved riding motorcycles and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Charlene of SC, he leaves behind his sons, Eric Burgess of SC, Richard Burgess of MN, and Keith Burgess of SC; brothers, Terry Burgess of TX and Donald Burgess also of TX; his sister, Pamela of IL; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
