Herbert Rumph Obituary

RUMPH, Herbert Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) Herbert L. Rumph, 81, of Hanahan; husband of Maleeta Hill Rumph, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Trident Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. Rumph's funeral service on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 10 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC. Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Mr. Rumph was born November 22, 1924 in Summerville; son of the late Macon J. Rumph and Ollie Rhode Rumph. Mr. Rumph retired as a pilot from the United States Air Force after thirty years of service. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Maleeta; two sons, Scott Rumph (Kaydee) of Niceville, FL and Mark Rumph (Sharon) of Yorktown, VA; three grandchildren, Desiree Rumph of Dayton, OH, Glenn Rumph of Newark, NJ, and Nicholas Rumph of Yorktown, VA; and two sisters, Catherine Gaulin of Columbia, SC and Joann Sanford of Columbia, SC.
