Henry Sims Obituary

SIMS, SR., Henry Henry Albert Sims, Sr., US Army Air Corp Veteran, 77, of Charleston, SC, husband of Marie Spell Sims, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 12:00 Noon in West Ashley Church of God, 1560 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29407. (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN FUNERAL LOCATION) Entombment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marie Spell Sims; two daughters, Patricia Ann Sturdivant and her husband Ed of Hanahan, SC, Pamela Gale Dollar and her husband Marion of Goose Creek, SC; one son, Reverend Henry Albert Sims, Jr. and his wife Jackie of Sumter, SC; sister, Dorothy Evelyn Witham of Charleston, SC. Also included are three grandchildren, Larry Sturdivant and his wife Lind, Jennifer Wyatt and her husband Larry and Julia Ann Marie Sims; and six great-grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Wyatt, Leslie Renee Wyatt, Justin Scott Wyatt, Rachel Katherine Wyatt, Jacob Sims Sturdivant, and Hannah Lind Sturdivant. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Spear. Mr. Sims was born February 5, 1928 in Charleston, SC. He was the son of Henry Sawyer Sims and Lilly Alma Skipper Sims. He was retired with Jone's Ford of North Charleston, where he was a customer service representative. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during WW II. He was a member of West Ashley Church of God. Our prayers are with you and we too will miss Mr. Sims very much. He was such an inspiration to me all these years I can still listen closely and hear him playing the panio. I really enjoyed hearing and watching him play. I know he is in heaven rejoicing with the angels
