Henry Chambers Obituary

Henry Chambers Canadys, SC - Mr. Henry Hubert Chambers, 87, entered into rest Saturday morning, March 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family in his home at Canadys while under the care of Amedisys Hospice. Born July 12, 1930, in Warsaw, Georgia, he was a son of the late William Franklin Chambers and the late Margaret Lucinda Adams Chambers. He served our Country faithfully in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict having been stationed in Germany. He was a retired master welder from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was also a master cabinet maker. Henry was known for his strong work ethic and devotion to what he loved in life. He was an active member of Canadys First Baptist Church and was a member and Past Master of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge, No. 338 - Ancient Free Masons. He was a well known icon and held honorary memberships within many of the Lodges that composed the Third Masonic District of South Carolina. For the Grand Lodge of South Carolina, he was a Past District Deputy Grand Master and was a Past Senior Grand Deacon. He was a member of the Omar Shrine , having served on Ritualistic Divan, and a Thirty-Third Degree Scottish Rite and was on the Thirty-Third Degree Team. Surviving are: his wife of sixty-three years, Mrs. Patsy Bailey Chambers; a son, Tony Chambers of Canadys; two daughters, Cheryl Chambers Pinillos and her husband Richard of Canadys and Donna Chambers Brown and her husband Jason of Goose Creek; and a sister, Cleo Fox of Summerville. There are four grandchildren, Michael Risher of Hanahan, Derek Seigler of Cottageville, Richard Pinillos of Canadys, and Nicholas Pinillos of Canadys; as well as six great grandchildren that also survive. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alma Simpson, Etta McQuaig, Aubrey Chambers, Ulma Hilman, Rena Sowell, James Chambers, Mary Strobel, Vera McTeer, and Billy Chambers. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to the following: Canadys First Baptist Church, care of Cheryl Pinillos, 699 Red Bank Road, Walterboro, South Carolina, 29488; or to, Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, April 3,2018, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Entombment with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The family has requested that members of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge, No. 338 to serve as Honorary Escorts and the presence is requested at The Funeral Chapel at 10:30 that morning. Family and friends are invited to call during a time of visitation this Monday evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock at THE BRICE W.
