Henry Carter Obituary

CARTER, Henry Entered into eternal rest on the morning of December 17, 2004, Henry C. Carter, husband of JoeAnn Carter. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Carter are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Monday, December 20, 2004 at eleven o'clock in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Sunday between three and six o'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Mr. Carter was born February 7, 1929 in Columbia, SC, the son of James Benjamin Carter and Reba Elizabeth McMillan Carter. He started with the A & P Grocery Chain and retired as manager from the Northbridge Piggly Wiggly. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Mr. Carter was an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon, chief cook and director of food service activities. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; three daughters: Glenna Kay McMillan and her husband, John of North Charleston, SC, Sharon Lee Jackson and her husband, Kelly of Goose Creek, SC, and Reba Michelle Smoak of Charleston, SC; one son: Michael Henry Carter of Charleston, SC; three grandsons: Michael Henry Redwood, 1stClass Boatswain Mate in U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Rockland, Maine, Larry Carter Smoak, Jr., and Karl Henry Jackson; one great granddaughter: Mariah Kaylee Redwood; one half-sister: Betty Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; one niece, Babs Rea and one nephew, Jack Buff. The Lord Is My Shepard I Shall Not Want. I am so sorry for your lost. Mr. Carter was one of if not my favorite pattient. I truly enjoyed meeting him and getting to know him. My prayers and blessings are with your family. Remember he is gone but not forgotten. God Bless.
