Harry Brunson HENDERSONVILLE, NC - It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Harry Andrew Brunson, who entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 18, 2024. A lifelong resident of the Lowcountry, Harry graduated from Porter Military Academy and served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Through hard work, grit and determination, Harry succeeded in becoming a very successful entrepreneur in business. He started B&W Mechanical Contractors and ran it for 40 plus years. He developed, built, and operated The Buzzard's Roost Marina on the Stono River. Harry was an avid boatsman, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Past Director of Royal Order of Jesters, serving 40 years, Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Harry was the District Commander of the U.S. Power Squadron. He provided tireless leadership to the Board of Berkeley Electric Cooperative, where he served for 30 years, 20 of those years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A., and Maude Ashworth Brunson; four brothers; and two sisters. Left in his memory, his devoted wife, Janet, and their pomeranians. He is survived by his four daughters; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In his later years, he began to enjoy success, but slowed down and sought a slower pace. He helped so many quietly and in his own way. He fought a good fight; he finished the race, and he kept the faith. A private graveside service was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.
