Harold Spell Obituary

SPELL, Harold Harold Spell, 87, of Ridgeville, husband of 32 years to Dorothy "Marie" Spell died Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009 at Trident Medical Center. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 2 o'clock at Little Rock Holiness Church, 21476 Augusta Highway, Cottageville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening. Flowers will be accepted. Mr. Spell was born March 15, 1922 in Smoaks, son of the late A.O. Spell and Henrietta Steedley Spell. He was a graduate of Smoaks High School. He was a former mason of the Smoaks Masonic Lodge and a member of Greenpond United Methodist Church, Smoaks. He retired from Savannah River Site as an administrator. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and four daughters, Andy Spell (Tabitha) of Summerville, Belinda Brown of Ridgeville, Dorothy Elizabeth McGrew (Mac) of Walterboro, Harriet Spell Way of San Marcos, California and Vonna Spell Bennett (Raymond) of Varnville; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lenora Kessler (Ray) of Charleston and Selma Miller of Orangeburg. He was predeceased by his brothers and sister, Oliver Spell, Haskell Spell and Minnie Lee Hudgins. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.jamesadyal.com.
