To the Altman Family - Our deepest sympathy on the loss of such a gentle, honest, humble and courageous man. In 2000, Gwen was one of the first people we met when looking to move to Pawleys. He stopped by as we were peering into a house he had listed. Even though we told him we were working with a realtor, he was so gracious and welcoming. He tried desperately to steer us to buy in Hagley, but, no - we bought in Litchfield. Boy, do I wish we had listened to his wisdom. I was always amazed when we ran into him and he had just come from chemo and yet was out working an hour later. And, oh how he loved his son and daughter-in-law. He had me meet with his son to try and talk him about a government job so he could have a good income and job security. He wanted nothing but the best for them. We often asked around town how Gwen was doing - we admired him so much. The world has lost a wonderful man! God speed, Gwen.
