Guy Douglas Hancock MT. PLEASANT - Guy Douglas Hancock, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 12, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. Guy was born August 2, 1937 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, son of the late James Horace Hancock and the late Daisy Gertrude Hood Hancock. He spent 30 plus years as the vice president of H R Allen Inc. He had a quick wit, an excellent sense of humor, and was known to enjoy shagging with his late wife, Margie. He will be remembered for the way he loved and spent time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by daughter, Allen Hancock Holmes (Robert) of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Guy Douglas Hancock, Jr. (Sharon), of Lakeland, FL; three grandchildren, Guy "Trey" Douglas Hancock III, Logan Coleman, and William "Drew" Andrew Coleman; dear friend, Mary Elizabeth Canaday; and brothers, James Horace (Linda) Hancock, Jr. and brother William Bill Hancock. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 43 years, Margie Allen Hancock. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
