Gloria Maguire
Charleston - Gloria Caddell Maguire, loving wife of James Maguire was born on April 3, 1944, and passed away peacefully in her home on January 5, 2026, with her loved ones by her side. Gloria graduated from North Charleston High School in 1964 and then received her Associate's degree of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from Trident Technical College. Gloria later retired from the Citadel working in both the Office of the Registrar and the Political Science department after 27 years of devoted service.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Gloria will always remember her sharp wit, bright smile and unwavering commitment to her family. In her final moments, Gloria found solace in the company of her family. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Rochelle Brown and Kaitlin Cross for their devoted and compassionate care and love which brought much comfort to Gloria.
Gloria is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, James Maguire of Charleston, SC, her sons Sean Milligan (Dorothy) of Ridgeville, SC, Michael Milligan of St. Simon Island, GA and her daughter Rachel Fuller of Charleston, SC. She held the special place as Gigi in the hearts of her grandchildren Andrew Milligan (Callie), Sara Grace, Mac, and J.T. Milligan, and Graham and Lillian Fuller. Gloria was also cherished as a great Gigi to Carter, Mary Wynn, and Lucy Ann Milligan. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Gloria Maguire's legacy of love and dedication to her family will be cherished forevermore.
A Visitation will be held Saturday January 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm in the Chapel. The Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
