Glenn Mayfield Obituary

Glenn Mayfield PALM COAST, FL - Glenn Mayfield, 58, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on December 17, 2012. Mr. Mayfield was born in Greenville, South Carolina on March 10, 1954 and was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He joined the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, and was a member of the initial crew when it was commissioned in October 1977, earning an honorable discharge in 1983. Mr. Mayfield attended Davidson College and The University of South Carolina before transferring to the University of Florida where he received an undergraduate degree in psychology in 1980. He attended the University Of Florida Law School where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1982. Mr. Mayfield was a partner in the Law Firm of Ledford, Mayfield and Ogle in Ormond Beach, FL. Mr. Mayfield is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years Paulette R. Mayfield; and his son William Alexander Mayfield, of Palm Coast, Florida; sons Jonathan Wesley and Wesley Marshburn White; daughter-in-law Jolee Coarsey White of Chiefland, Fl.; grandsons Wacey Jon, Jack Henry, Justyn Wesley and Layne Jasper White, also of Chiefland, FL. Other survivors include his parents William Alexander and Eleanor Patton Mayfield of Mount Pleasant, SC; a sister, Susan Mayfield Hunnicutt and brother-in-law, Lee Hunnicutt of Salida, Colorado, niece Caroline Mayfield West of Charleston, SC; and nephew Scott Patton West of New York, NY, nephew Joseph Raleigh West, III and his wife Hall Sprott West, and great-niece Elliot Scott West of Charleston, SC. He is preceded in death by his brother, Wells Thomas Mayfield of Mount Pleasant, SC. A Memorial Luncheon will be held at noon on January 12, 2013, at Washington Oaks State Park, Palm Coast, FL. Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast is in charge of all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pet Helpers, or your local no-kill animal shelter.
