George Sando Obituary

George Michael Sando SUMMERVILLE - George Michael Sando, 86, of Summerville, husband of Marie (Mary) Petrosino Sando, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Summerville Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 9 to 10 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 o'clock at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville. Mr. Sando was born April 19, 1929 in Nanticoke, PA, son of the late Michael George Sando and Elizabeth Sharnick Sando. Mr. Sando served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Sando retired from Remington Arms Company. He was a member of the Berkeley Senior Center and St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. He liked playing cards at the senior center. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 508 Hampton Street, Ste. 200, Columbia, SC 29201. Survivors, including his wife Marie (Mary) of 63 years, are four sons: Michael Sando of Sandy Hook, CT, Frank Sando (Mary) of Summerville, Richard Sando of Milford, CT and George Sando of Summerville; five grandsons: Richard, Nicholas, Danny, Garrett & Robert Sando, two granddaughters: Amy Campbell and Amy's wife Alexus Campbell of Summerville and Kasey Hawkins (Jason) of Colorado; one great grandson: Keenan Olivera and many nieces and nephews.
