George Rhodes Obituary

RHODES, SR., George George Thomas Rhodes, Sr., of Awendaw, SC died Wednesday, July 05, 2006. The funeral service will be Friday, July 7, 2006 at the graveside, MOUNT PLEASANT MEMORIAL GARDENS at ten o'clock. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock. Mr. Rhodes was born April 15, 1919 in Union Point, GA. He was a member of Awendaw Southern Methodist Church. He was a retired engineer with Army Transportaion Depot and Detyens Shipyard . He was also a decorated Veteran having served in the US Navy, US Marines and Coast Guard. Surviving are his two sons, George Thomas Rhodes, Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Awendaw, SC and Randolph Rhodes and his wife, Joyce of Mt. Pleaant, SC; five grandchildren, Vincent Rhodes and his wife, Bet, of Beaufort, SC, Wade Rhodes and his wife, Meg of Awendaw, SC, Dorcas Charette and her husband, John of Awendaw, SC, Victoria Rhodes of Charleston, SC and Christopher Rhodes and his wife, Amy of Mt. Pleasant, SC and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Dorothy Rhodes of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche White Rhodes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Asso., 409 King Street, Suite 300, Charleston, SC 29403.
