George Chitty Obituary

I expect you don´t think to look at this page often any more. Rick´s been gone 9? years now. Still, I was blown away by finding anything at all about him. We were at USC together for one semester, and had one or two art classes together. I loved his work and it was in admiring a print I bought from him, "Sibling", that I just decided to look him up on the internet. I wouldn´t have recognized him after all these years, but I recognized everything in the obit. I even remembered his mother´s name! What a wonderful guy he was! I´m so sorry to find out he´s no longer with us. What a loss! Now I´ll treasure that print even more!

I was late to hear of Rick's passing. He was a beloved friend I first met at USC Art Department 1967. I was among so many that admired his work and loved his gentle spirit. The portrait so cherished, handed now to sister Ann.

I remember Rick being so kind to me when I was young in North Augusta, SC. Was always amazed at how he could draw.Remember making skate boards with Rick.I know he will be greatly missed. My sympathy goes out to his family.Mike Markwalter of North Augusta

In thinking about Rick and memories we shared, I realize that he never played a false note, never put himself before the courtesy he offered other people. Kindness, courage, talent....Rick exaltation becomes our grief. May the sod lay lightly aman cara.
