George Beckett Obituary

George Joseph Beckett Summerville - George Joseph Beckett, 79, of Summerville, husband of Eileen Fries Beckett passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and children, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Summerville Community Hospice House. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11 o'clock. Mr. Beckett was born December 6, 1941 in New York City (Queens Borough), NY, son of the late George John Beckett and Janet Maloney Beckett. He was an Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6629 and assisted in their many charitable activities and family events. Mr. Beckett's hobbies included gardening, genealogy, model trains and vacations with the family. He retired from AT&T/Lucent after 35+ years of service. After retirement he successfully owned and operated Beckett Communications for 20 years. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483 or Knights of Columbus-Columbus Hope Foundation, Inc. at www.columbushope.org Survivors, including his wife Eileen, are four children: Janet Pinson (Andy) of Richmond, VA, Thomas Beckett (Lisa) of Concord, NC, Joseph Beckett (Janet) of Johns Island and Ellen Davis (Elbert) of Summerville, six grandchildren: Daniel Pinson, Justin Beckett, Matthew Pinson, Riley Beckett, Eyan Davis and Eliot Davis; one sister and one brother: Mary Pinnata (George) of Stony Brook, NY and Robert Beckett (Patricia) of Danbury, CT and many nieces and nephews.
