Gary Walters Obituary

WALTERS, SR., Gary Gary Lee Walters, Sr., 76, of Summerville, SC, husband of Ethel Dolores Zorn Walters, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at a local hospital. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, Summerville at 1:30 o'clock. Interment with military honors will follow in Bethany Cemetery, Charleston. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, April 28, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Mr. Walters was born April 19, 1932 in Huntington, IN, son of the late Raymond O. Walters and the late Dorothy Wagner Walters. He graduated from Chester Township High School in 1950 and also from Purdue University in 1954. He was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church in Summerville. He was retired from Westvaco Corporation (now known as MeadWestvaco). Surviving are his wife of 51 years; a son, Gary L. Walters, Jr. (Judy) of Savannah, GA; sister, Susan W. Fletcher (Roland) of Ellettsville, IN; and two grandchildren, Amanda Walters and Clayton Walters, both of Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Emmanual Baptist Church, 10665 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
