Garrett Conlon Jr. CHARLESTON - Garrett "Gary" A. Conlon Jr., 90, of Charleston, died Monday, October 21, 2013. He was born November 28, 1922 in Charleston, SC, the son of Mr. Garrett A Conlon and Mrs. Theodora Rabb Conlon Gary graduated from Bishop England High School and Murray Vocational School. He worked at the Charleston Shipyard and retired in 1967. Gary was a lifelong resident of Ansonborough as an unofficial mayor and historian. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus Rev. P.N. Lynch Council 704. He is survived by his sister Mary Frances Conlon Bischoff (Richard) his brother, William "Billy" Conlon and nephews, Alan Bischoff (Carol), Richard Bischoff, Jr. (Tina, deceased); cousins Joyce Dunaway, and Michael Robinson (Carolyn) as well as many great-nephews and nieces. Gary was predeceased by his nieces, Ann Marie Dobson and Elizabeth Conlon Blackwell. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and neighbors. Mass of Christian Burial is TODAY at St Mary Catholic Church, 89 Hasell Street, Charleston, at 10AM. Committal and Farewell will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery following the service.
