Frances Page Obituary

Frances Jane Phillips Page CHARLESTON - Frances Jane Phillips Page, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, died peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at home. Frances was born April 7, 1929, in Andrews (Valleytown Township), NC, daughter of the late Gurley and Louise Phillips. She grew up in the Great Smoky Mountains where she graduated from Andrews High School. Soon after she met and fell in love with the love of her life, John Page. Frances is survived by her husband, John Dennis Page, Jr., of 74 years who proposed to her after a week of meeting. The success of their long marriage is a testament to their faithfulness and selfless service to one another. She resided in Hampton, SC, from 1950-2015 where she raised three sons. She was the organist for the First Baptist Church in Hampton for 25 years and was a founding member and organist of the Higher Ground Christian Fellowship (currently Lighthouse Church). Music has always been a passion of hers and she touched many lives through her music store, Music, Inc., where she inspired many to pursue their musical talents. She moved to Charleston in 2015. Frances is also survived by her three sons that she adored, John Dennis Page, III (Peggy), Scott (Susan) and Perry (Roz); 10 grandchildren that she loved dearly: Scotty, John (Katie), Freddy (Jennifer), Chris (Tammy), Joshua (Janet), Andrew (Staci), Sandy Lesley (Jason), Sharon Hough (Ben), Julia Fain (Lee) and Matthew (Amelia); and 30 great-grandchildren who affectionately called her "GGma"; and several cousins, nephews and nieces. She had so much love to give and made it a priority to remember everyone's birthday. She was like a mother to Spencer Mackenzie and Marty Hynson and many others who she welcomed into her home. A fantastic southern cook, she made the best pound cakes. Her love of butter was only second to her love of Jesus. She had a strong relationship with Jesus that influenced many people with her lifestyle and generosity. Her memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Church, 2435 Augusta Hwy., Hampton, SC, on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements are by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, SC. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Agape Children's Ministry c/o Chris and Tammy Page ( agapechildren.org ). Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston
