Esther E. Roper JAMES ISLAND - Mrs. Esther Easterling Roper, 73, of James Island, SC, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 3, 2022. Funeral services celebrating her life will be private. The services will be live-streamed via The Palmetto Mortuary's Facebook page beginning at 1:00 p.m. today, Monday, January 10, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband, Oliver Roper, Jr.; sons: Reginald Roper (Stacia), Oliver L. Roper (the late Michelle Roper; Janelle), Tracy Roper (Zandra), and Mark Roper (Paige); adopted daughter, Debbie Whaley; adopted son, Elder Diedrik Lewis (Angela); eleven grandchildren: Travis, Amanda, Jordan, Mariah, Daniel, Olivia, Mikaela, Tranese, Destiny, Skai, and Micah; four sisters: Juanita Easterling, Alberta Easterling, Gladys Cherry, and Carolyn Simmons; one brother: Carnell Easterling; one half-sister: Lenita Green; three step-brothers: Larry McMillan, Gary McMillan, and Daryl Easterling; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings: James Easterling, John Easterling, Roosevelt Easterling, Nick Easterling, Jr., Wilt Easterling, Ailene Long, Catherine Easterling, Thelma Easterling, and Beulah Roundtree.
