Elaine Shieder Obituary

Elaine Hill Shieder ROUND O - Elaine Hill Shieder, wife of Norris Shieder, died Wednesday morning at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was 70. Mrs. Shieder was born Sept. 16, 1943 in Moncks Corner, a daughter of the late Obie H. Hill and Myrtle Saulsbury Hill. She was the retired shop manager for Beckar Sand and Mineral Company, and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Walterboro Elks Lodge #1988. Elaine was known as a hard worker, and she loved roses and caring for all animals. In addition to her husband Norris, she is survived by her step-children: Johnnie Shieder Jr. (Marcia), Ronnie Shieder, and Robin Kaelin (John) of Grover, and Connie Jackson (Dean) of St. George. She has one sister, Johnnie Mae Gaskins of Lebanon, SC, and two nieces, April Francis and Teresa McAlhaney. There is one great-niece, six step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following at 12:30 PM in Berkley Memorial Gardens of Moncks Corner. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul St., Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
