Edith Lancaster Obituary

LANCASTER, Edith WALTERBORO - Mrs. Edith Fentress Lancaster, of Walterboro, wife of Bernie L. Lancaster, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2007 at North Walterboro Baptist Church, directed by The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery. Mrs. Lancaster was born March 17, 1935, the first daughter of the late William F. and Edna A. Fentress in the Falls of the Rough, Kentucky. She was a retired nurse and had also retired from the S. C. Forestry Services. Surviving in addition to her husband are: her children, Mary A. Stutts and husband Daniel of Varnville, Teresa A. Lancaster of Walterboro, Karen L. Busby of Harleyville, and William R. Lancaster and wife Kathy of Augusta, GA; and 4 step-children of California. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Kolbus and husband Lowell of Mattoon, IL and Brenda Baker and husband Michael of Boothwyn, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kylie E. Busby. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Winyah Community Hospice, 203-A Eddie Chasteen Drive, Walterboro, SC 29488, or to North Walterboro Baptist Church, 2177 Jefferies Blvd, Walterboro, SC 29488.
