Dorothy "Dot" Bowen Evans ROCKY MOUNT, NC - Dorothy "Dot" Bowen Evans, 79, died Saturday, November 20, 2010, at home with her son and daughter-in-law in North Carolina. Born August 14, 1931, in Mullins, SC, she was the daughter of Willie J. and Annie Drew Bowen and was a former longtime resident of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James W. Evans Sr.; her son, Steven M. Evans; her daughter, Sherry E. Garvin; and her grandson, Johnny Thomas Evans. She is survived by her two sons, James W. Evans Jr. and wife Deborah Evans and Johnny Lynn Evans; daughter-in-law, Sandra G. Evans; four brothers and a sister: Pete Bowen and wife Carolyn, Sam Bowen and wife Betty, Jerry Bowen and wife Pat, Tommy Bowen and wife Peggy and Florence Parrish and husband Charles; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her companion for 15 years, Frank Davis. Ms Evans was loved and will be missed by ALL. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 28, 2010, at 4:00 PM at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.
