Doris Oswald Obituary

Doris J. Oswald MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Doris Jean Edmonds Oswald, age 63, wife of Jerry Oswald, of Mount Pleasant, lost her battle with cancer on October 7, 2010. Friends and family of Mrs. Oswald are invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., at PALMETTO CREMATION SOCIETY, 11 CUNNINGTON AVENUE, CHARLESTON, SC 29405. The family will be receiving guests from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Doris Jean Edmonds Oswald was born in Whiteland, IN on September 6, 1947, and grew up in the country outside of Shelbyville, IN. She married Jerry Oswald in March 1968 and resided in Indianapolis Indiana area prior to the transfer of her husband to Charleston, SC, in 1996. As a licensed South Carolina Residential Care Administrator, she worked as a Business Manager for The Sand Piper Village and later for Wind Wood Farms Home for Boys. Doris had a nurturing spirit. The young people that worked around her often referred to her as 'Mother' and would seek her council and advice. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Jerry Oswald and her eldest son, Michael Oswald. Mrs. Oswald was preceded in death by a son, Corey Oswald. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in the memory of Mrs. Doris J. Oswald to The Layne Oswald Trust or to the American Cancer Society.
