Diane Bessinger Obituary

Diane Bessinger CHARLESTON - Wife of 54 years to Barry Bessinger, passed away peacefully on May 21 at Lowcountry Agape Hospice Care. Born Aug 11. 1950, in Spartanburg, SC, to parents, Oliver and Genevieve Scruggs, the family moved to Charleston early on. She was a graduate of Hanahan High School and Baptist College, where she earned her nursing degree. She was a Registered Nurse for 40 years at MUSC Hospital, where she retired from in 2012. She is survived by her husband, Barry, son, Dawson and daughter-in-law, Andrea and their 3 children, Luca, Cruz, and Willa, and grandsons, Harrison and Hayes Craven. She was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberlee Craven and her parents. Diane loved and spoiled her grandchildren dearly. She loved the mountains, the beach and boating, music and playing her piano, and her convertible Mustang! And the best pets ever, Muffin, Duchess and Mudpie ! We would like to thank the staff at Somerby Memory Care for their love and care of Diane over the last couple of years. Arrangements by Simplicity Cremation Services in Ladson, SC.
