Deborah Flood Obituary

FLOOD, Deborah Deborah Francis Flood passed quietly into our loving Fathers arms on Saturday, December 22,2007. She begins her everlasting life after her second battle with a rare cancer. In speaking of her disease, she said, I am a winner either way, I can stay here with my family, or, I can join my family in heaven. Debbie, as she was known, is survived by her husband Timothy F. Flood of Charleston, SC; her parents: Noah and Jean M. Francis of Erwin, TN; two sons: T. Howard Flood and his wife Gina M. Flood and Barry M. Flood; one granddaughter: Madison L. Flood, all of Cayce, SC. She was predeceased by the late Reverend Joseph H. Flood and Patricia Johnson Flood. Debbie started life on the same birth day as her maternal grandmother, Lora Martin, July 11th. She was a member of The Cayce Church of the Nazarene, where she had been baptized. She graduated from Airport High in West Columbia, SC and attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN where she excelled in sports, lettering in basketball, tennis, softball and volleyball. She spent most of her career in Columbia, SC as a Certified Warranty Administrator in the heavy truck industry. She had two dreams when she was growing up. First, she wanted to fly, and now she's doing that. Second, she had always wanted brothers and sisters and found them within her marriage and with a very special cousin, F. Hammond Johnson, and also at her last job with All Carolina Crane Rental where she found a special sister. A visitation for family and friends will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406, Wednesday between five and seven o'clock. There will be another visitation Friday in Valley Funeral Home and Chapel, 1085 North Main Ave., Erwin, TN 37650 between five and seven o'clock. She will be laid to rest Saturday, December 29, 2007 at one o'clock, in Roselawn Memorial Park, 3033 South Roan St., Johnson City, TN. Pallbearers will be her family and friends. Although Debbie & I only knew each other for a little over a year, we had a special bond from the moment we met. We were co-workers who became fast friends. We both lived in Pompano Beach, FL at the same time and Debbie & Tim frequented the same restaurants and beach Tiki Bars as myself & my husband Chuck.
We talked of going back there together. On Friday we are heading down to Florida to visit family and my thoughts will be on Debbie & Tim.
We feel very lucky to have them in our lives.
We love you Tim and we love your little angel Debbie, bless her heart.
