Dean DuPont Obituary

Dean Floyd DuPont N. CHARLESTON - MCPO Dean Floyd DuPont, Sr., USN Ret., 75, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Sylvia McCullar DuPont died Tuesday, July 16, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 22, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 10:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Mr. DuPont was born January 15, 1938 in Anita, CO, son of the late Gilbert Ernest DuPont and the late Elvira Gomez DuPont. He was a Master Chief Petty Officer retired after 26 years in the US Navy. He formerly worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a tax preparer for H&R Block. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia J. DuPont of Charleston, SC; sons, Dean DuPont Jr. and his wife Illissa of North Charleston, SC, Steven J. DuPont and his wife Amanda of Panama City, FL; daughter, Lisa Marie Holley of Summerville, SC; grandchildren: Dean DuPont III, Elizabeth DuPont, Timothy DuPont, Sara Sweatman, Amy DuPont, Beau DuPont, Vanessa DuPont, Richard DuPont Jr., Jeremy DuPont, Landon Holley, Lee Holley, Lauren Holley, and Robert Pavlick; great-grandchildren: Nova Pratt, Khole Platt and Brandon Pavlick; brothers, Phillip Gilbert and Arthur DuPont; sisters: Gloria Olsen, Frances Heffner, Daisy Gallegos and Joyce Leyba. He was preceded in death by his son, SSG Richard G. DuPont, US Army and his brother, Gilbert DuPont. Memorials may be made to Carolina Hospice Care, 410 Mill Street, Suite 104, Mt.
