RICHARDSON, Daniel KINGSTREE - It is with deep regret and profound sorrow that we sadly announce the passing of Daniel "DW" Webster Richardson. Daniel "DW" Richardson, president of Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, Inc., of Kingstree, S.C., and Samuels and Richardson Funeral Home of Kingstree, S.C., age 60, died Sunday, February 20, 2005, at the Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, S.C. Wake service will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, 6 p.m., Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy. 52 South, Salters, S.C. Rev. Joseph D. Ricks, Pastor. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 24, 2005, at the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church, Longstreet and Main Street, Kingstree, S.C. Rev. Jerome Wilson, Pastor. Rev. Joseph D. Ricks, officiating. The interment will take in Florence National Cemetery, National Cemetery Road, Florence, S.C. He was born September 22, 1944, in Springlake, N.C., to Watkins Richardson, Sr., and Mrs. Ethel Morrison Richardson. He attended the public schools of Philadelphia, Pa., and graduated from Boylan Haven Mather Academy High School, Camden, S.C. He also graduated from Allen University, Columbia, S.C., in 1967. He graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, New York, N.Y., with a M.S. degree in Mortuary Science. He did further studies at SC State University and Clemson, University. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Salters, S.C. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Douglas Masonic Lodge No. 277, Elks Lodge No. 1679, Rotary Club, Mouzon's Club, American Legion and the National and State Funeral Directors and Morticians Association. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Exchange Bank of South Carolina. He served in the US Army, played professional football with the Orlando Panthers of the Continental Football League, coached at Hillcrest Center of Children's Bedford Hills, NY, and a biology teacher and assistant coach at Roberts High School, Holly Hill, S.C. He is survived by: wife, Myra J. Richardson of the home; a nephew he reared as his own, Keith L. Richardson of Kingstree, S.C.; three sisters, Betty Duncan, Helen (Roland) King and Bershel (Alexander) Landsay, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; four brothers, George (Cynthia) Richardson of Conway, S.C., James (Nora) Richardson and Larry (Wanda) Richardson, both of Chesapeake, Va., and Pittman Richardson of Philadelphia, Pa.; a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. Family members are receiving friends at 104 North Brooks Street, Kingstree, S.C. REDMOND-RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., of Kingstree, S.C., is in charge of arrangements.
