Daniel Altman Obituary

Daniel Altman N. Charleston - Daniel "Dan" L. Altman, age 90, of N Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Dan was born in Florence, SC on May 20, 1932. Dan is survived by his son, Kyle Altman (Susan) and his granddaughter, Kelsey (Chris). Dan is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Altman and his parents, Athol and Kathryn Altman. Dan was a veteran who served in the United States Airforce. After discharging from the military, he worked for the US Foreign Service doing coding. During his carreer, he was able to travel all across the world. Because of this, he had many stories to tell and loved to do so. Most of his life he worked in Civil Service at the Naval Weapons Station in Charleston until he retired. Dan was very a very active Shriner and also active in the Exchange Club. In his spare time, he loved to fish, camp, hunt, and be outdoors. Dan was a people person and had a great number of friends whom he cared dearly for. Dan was a loving, devoted, and caring father; the "best dad ever." A visitation will be held for Dan on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home followed by chapel memorial service at 3:00 pm. 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
