Constance Cross Obituary

CROSS, Constance Constance Rockwell Cross, of Charleston, South Carolina, died on July 21, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Robert Sanderson Cross, whom she married on March 22, 1947. Mrs. Cross was born in Claremont, New Hampshire on March 6, 1924, the child of Horace L. Rockwell and Elizabeth Dow Rockwell. Mrs. Cross was graduated from The Oxford School, Hartford CT and attended Smith College. Mrs. Cross and her husband lived on Kiawah Island, SC for a number of years and spent summers at Mr. Cross' childhood home at Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire. The relatives and friends of Constance Rockwell Cross are invited to attend her memorial service on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at two o'clock in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden. The family will receive friends following the service in Myers Hall. Mrs. Cross is survived by her four children and their families; her children include, Lisa Cross Tilgner of Londonberry, NH; Peter Cross of South Windsor, CT; David Cross of Chappaqua, NY; and Carol Hopfenspirger of Amherst, NH. Mrs. Cross and her husband had 8 grandchildren.
