Chris Rogers Obituary

Chris Rogers Charleston - Chris Karl Rogers, 68, of Charleston, husband to Debra M. Rogers (Mayfield) of 46 years. Chris was welcomed home into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, on Friday, November 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. Chris was born on August 30, 1953 in Charleston, SC. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Edward Rogers, Sr. and Norine Limehouse Rogers and a brother, Charles Edward Rogers, Jr. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Debbie, for 46 years. Chris grew up in the Riverland Terrace neighborhood and loved to tell stories about his adventures with his friends. He attended James Island High School, where he met his forever love. He was a happy-go-lucky guy in school and voted his senior class president. Chris began his career at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for many years as a Shop 38 Marine Machinist Nuclear Refueling Foreman, at the Defense Finance and Accounting Services, and retired as a logistics manager at the Space and Naval Warfare Center in 2010 after 37 years with the Department of Defense. He graduated from Limestone College later in his career and completed his Master's degree from Webster University. Soon after retirement, he began a new career as a logistics engineer at the Scientific Research Corporation. His love of photography led him to also start his own business taking nature photographs and portraits. Chris cherished his Lord, his family, his church, and his friends. He also loved his four-legged babies, Abby, Skylar, Millie, and Toonces. He was a wonderful, kind, and loving husband, son, brother, friend, and uncle. He loved his nephew, Alec, as though he were his own son. Chris had a big, friendly personality and could talk to anyone about anything. His faith, kindness, compassion, and generosity will be what will serve as his legacy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at James Island Baptist Church. The service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at James Island Baptist Church. The burial will be held at Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery. Big Chris we called him at SPAWAR....always a smile, I would see him in Harris Teeter after he retired and he always had a cheerful spirit....good to know he's in heaven. God bless his family.

Prayers to the family of Chris during this time of remembrance. I grew up down the road from Chris and his mom off of Woodland Shores and worked with him at CNSYD.

Debbie and Family, I was so saddened to read of Chris passing. I´ll never forget 2 things about him, that red hair and his personality. Another Ram gone too soon. Sending my love and prayers. Have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless.

To the family of Chris my sincere condolences. Chris was a friend back in High School and like a lot of others we loss touch and by the time that Facebook came around to remeet old friends we were (no excuse) we were busy with other things. I wish I would have talked to him to rekindle the friendship and not in FB. But now I can't and all I can do is offer you my prayers and the prayers of Epworth Methodist Church to the survivors because Chris is already reunited with all that went before him. Sorry for the loss you have suffered
