Carl Curtis Swain MT. PLEASANT - Carl Curtis Swain, 64, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died suddenly Sunday evening, May 31, 2009, at the home of his brother in Fairfax County, Virginia. Carl was born December 12, 1944 in Charleston to Raymond Regis Swain, Sr. and Ethel Seagren Swain of Sullivan's Island, SC. Carl is survived by four brothers, David C. Swain (Patsy) of Alabama; James C. Swain (Brenda) of Virginia; Gary M. Swain (Mary) of North Charleston; and Leonard A. Swain of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Ethel S. Backus (Phil) of Mt. Pleasant and Nancy S. Jager (George) of James Island; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Robert R. Swain, Sr. and Donald W. Swain both of California; and Raymond R. Swain, Jr. of Isle of Palms, SC. Carl was a blessing for his family and loved his time spent with each and every one of them. Carl worked for Delicious Delights, run by Mrs. Francis Roy. He loved his job and looked forward to going to work each day. Carl will be greatly missed by all family members and his many friends.
