Betty Joan Brant
Mount Pleasant - Betty Joan Brant, 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd, at 2:00 pm followed by a reception at Snee Farm Country Club.
Betty was born on December 21, 1942, in Fairborn, Ohio, to the late Lester Cunningham and the late Nina Riley Cunningham. She dedicated her professional life to nursing as a Registered Nurse, a vocation that demonstrated her commitment to caring for others.
An avid tennis player, Betty was actively involved in the sport at Snee Farm, showcasing her passion for both competition and community. Above all, she found immense joy in taking care of her family, forging strong bonds that would last a lifetime.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Brant, and their two daughters, Beth Cottrell (E.K) of Atlantic Beach, FL, and Deborah Anderson (Stephen) of Blythewood, SC. Betty also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Allison, Christopher, Emma, Joseph, as well as her great-grandchildren, Thomas "T.J." and Ada, who brought her great joy. She is preceded in death by her two older brothers, Gene and Mike, and her two younger sisters, Joyce and Janet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
