I had the pleasure of knowing Lt. Gov. Maybank when he lived in Greenville and served with my uncle, Pete Marchant, in the SC General Assembly in the mid-1950's. He certainly had a noted career! My sympathy.

Thoughts and prayers with the family at this time. He was an outstanding public servant from a family of public servants. Thank you for sharing him with South Carolina.

I was lucky enough by volunteering with the Citadel Brigadier Foundation to meet Mr. Maybank. He graciously donated his mountain house for our annual auction which I purchased on several occasions. We loved spending time there and reading all the memorabilia on the walls. He even showed up one time and joined us and went to dinner. I loved hearing his war stories. He was a wonderful, brilliant man and I know he is leaving you with wonderful memories.
