Billy Houser Obituary

HOUSER, Billy Billy Clint Houser, 69, of Ladson, SC, husband of Cathy Houser, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, July 14, 2007 at PARKS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL at eleven o'clock. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be Monday, July 23, 2007 in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Avenue, Suite 101, North Charleston, SC 29405-7493. Mr. Houser was born April 4, 1938 in Warren, MI. He graduated from Center Line High School and served in the US Navy from 1958 1962 on the USS Ajax. He was stationed at Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA and in Sasabo, Japan. He was employed for thirty years at General Motors, Fisher Body Division, in Production Engineering in Warren, MI. Mr. Houser retired in 1992, moved to Spring Hill, FL, where as an avid golfer and bowler, he was a member of the Tuesday Night Men's Bowling League, Nassau Blue Team at Mariner Lanes in Spring Hill, the Wellington Golf League and other leagues in the area. Mr. Houser moved to Summerville, SC in 2005 where he joined the Southern Palms Golf League at Legend Oaks and the Senior Bowling League at Sandpiper Lanes. Bill bowled two 300 games in his career. Bill and his wife Cathy toured 48 states on their matching Honda Goldwing motorcycles. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Cathy Houser of Ladson, SC; one sister, Darlene Rasnick of Queen Creek, AZ; aunt and uncle, Nina and Murray Ostrander of Apache Junction, AZ; brother-in-law and wife, Thomas and Maxine Alford of Vermilion, OH; Sisters-in-law, Joyce and Eugene Sullivan of Tega Cay, SC, Fran and Harry Fitzgerald of Glennie, MI, June and Paul Marischen of Goose Creek, SC; and many dear friends.
