ROYSTER Betty Jo. Born July 12, 1927 in Somerset, KY, to Nannie Goffe Barnett and Ben G. Barnett. Graduated Somerset High School 1944, B.A. Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College 1947; M.A. University of Kentucky 1949. Married July 1, 1950 Wimberly Calvin Royster. Sons David Calvin Royster and Paul Barnett Royster. Member of facility for mathematics at Sue Bennett College, Midway Junior College, Lexington Community College, and University of Kentucky. Member First United Methodist Church, Captain John McKinley Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, University of Kentucky Woman's Club, Philanthropic Educational Organization, and Owsley Family Society. Preceded in death by parents, husband, and grandson Robert Benjamin Royster. Survived by sons, daughters-in-law Norma Royster and Jane Remus, grandsons Thomas Wilkins Royster and James Andrew Remus Royster, granddaughter Elizabeth Abigail Remus Royster, sister-in-law Valara Heierman, nephews Charles William Royster, William Allen Heierman, and Daniel Eric Heierman, Niece Jean Ellen Swearingen, three great-nephews and three great-nieces.
