D Pecora Schnurr MD
September 23, 2020
My condolences and prayers to your family. I knew Dr. Schroeder as a good friend of my uncle, Chick Pecora MD, and had heard such wonderful things about him. When I came on staff at Clara Maass, I finally had the opportunity meet him. Such a kind and gentile man.
All the lives that he touched, the comfort that he gave as he cared for all his patients and their loved ones, I am sure he more than fulfilled his job on this earth. For all your sacrifice for allowing him to do his work, know that he will always be in the minds and hearts of many.

Dad believed in giving back; he was a pillar of the community in Glen Ridge and personal physician to many in our small town. He coached Little League baseball, basketball and was a High School Catechism teacher. He participated in several medical mission trips to Haiti and after retiring in 2002, Bernie choose to volunteer as a physician mentor at The Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston, SC. He also became an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church so he could counsel people.
