Barbara Smith CHARLESTON - Barbara Kemp Ewing Smith, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Roderick Ira Smith, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 16, 2023. Her funeral service will be held, Monday June 19, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr West Ashley Chapel, (3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway) at 3:00, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service. Barbara was born December 12, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Fleming Bristow Ewing and Belle Duncan Ewing. She attended Anderson College and spent career in sales. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roderick Smith of Charleston, SC; 2 sons, Roderick Dean Smith (Jennifer) of Greenville, SC; Kevin Bristow Smith (Emily) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Judith E. Metts (George) of Charleston, SC; Three grandchildren, Sam Smith, Jake Smith, Harley Smith and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to MUSC Stroke Center, 151-A Rutledge Ave., Charleston, SC 29425. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
