Barbara Ferri Obituary

Barbara Ferri Mt. Pleasant - Barbara P. Ferri, widow of Joseph F. Ferri, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 27, 2021. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel. Barbara was born at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina July 6, 1943, daughter of Charles John Pistey and Frances Burns Pistey. She spent most of her life in the Charleston area, but did spend about ten years of her youth in Myrtle Beach, where she attended Myrtle Beach High School. Barbara had a vibrant personality and enjoyed working with people. She was a bartender for a number of years and then became a real estate agent. In later years, she worked at the Historic Charleston City Market selling local wares. Barbara was artistic from an early age and enjoyed sketching, painting, crocheting, making purses, sewing, and creating decorative pieces. She spent many free hours dancing the shag. She is survived by her sister, Patricia P. Roberts (Hart) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter-in-law, Donna S. Rexroad of Pratt, KS; niece, Michele Fancher (Brian) of North Charleston, SC; nephew, Jason Miller (Vanessa) of Eugene, OR; and cousin, Danny Caddell (Kristi) of Cordesville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Ferri; son, Dennis Charles Rexroad; mother, Frances Burns Pistey; father, Charles John Pistey; and brother, Charles Leon Pistey. A special thanks to the staff at Sandpiper Courtyard Assisted Living for their kindness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crescent Hospice, 4401 Belle Oaks, Dr., Suite 105, North Charleston, SC 29405. Dear Pat and Barbara´s family, please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. We will miss her deeply too. Her presence added so much to our quarterly get-to-there´s and pot luck suppers. She always had so much wisdom and laughter to add to our gatherings. We loved her dearly and pray for her and for you all. Sadly another member of our little group, Kathryn Johns, passed away last summer. This seems to be a sad time, but also a time for fond memories of those who have left us. We hold you all in our thoughts and prayers.
