Audrey Davison Obituary

Audrey Davison Hanahan - Audrey Adeline Davison, 92, of Hanahan, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 19, 2019 following a long illness. She was born to the late Walter and Phyllis Palmer on July 26, 1926, in Oxford England. Audrey graduated from the Milham Ford Secondary School, Oxford. She and her late husband, Horace Davison, met in Oxford while he was serving in the US Army during WWII. Two years after the war, Audrey left home and came to the US where she and Horace were married on May 5, 1947. They lived in Mobile, AL before moving to Charleston, SC in 1966. Her beloved survivors include: her six children - Linda Lindsay (Mike) of Summerville, SC; Carol Tucker (Kevin) of Madison, AL; Marty Besancon (Charles) of N. Charleston, SC; Paul Davison (Yvonne) of Hanahan, SC; Jennifer Wyckoff (Pete) of Summerville, SC; Rita DeMott (Russ) of Summerville, SC; three sisters - Shelia Andrews of Lymington Hants, England; Pat Bond of Bichester Oxon, England; Jane (Richard) Bedwell of Alamogordo, NM; thirteen grandchildren - Brian Jordan; Jason Jordan; Paul Tucker; Adrian Besancon; Andre Besancon; Natalie Davison; Josh Davison; Austin Davison; Drew Wyckoff; Clae Wyckoff; Marissa DeMott-Siebert; Madison DeMott; Malayna DeMott; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. Audrey worked in Oxford as an auditor and served in the British Civilian Corps during WWII. After her marriage, she devoted her time to caring for her husband and children. She faithfully served in her Baptist church teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. Audrey was an active member of the British Wives Club of Mobile, AL and loved her "British Sisters" until the end of her life. True to her British Roots, she loved to garden. A Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 5-7 pm at the Carolina Memorial Funeral Home followed by the funeral service on Sunday, February 24 at 3pm. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Alabama Special Olympics, 2095 Scott Rd., Hazel Green, AL 35750 in honor of Audrey's grandson, Paul Tucker. One childhood memory, sister Sheila has of sister Audrey was while staying with an Aunt and Uncle, we would walk to Bagley Woods near their house and pick Blue Bells in the woods.
