Arthur Neal Morrow, Jr. JOHNS ISLAND - Arthur Neal Morrow, Jr, 73, of Johns Island, SC, entered into eternal rest on January 21, 2022. For over 3 years, he valiantly "fought the good fight" against cancer. Preceding him in death were his loving parents, A. Neal Morrow, Sr. & Clifford S. Morrow of Spartanburg, & his "Granny", whom he adored. He graduated from Spartanburg High School, class of '67. He, also, graduated from the Baptist College in 1975 with double majors in Business & Sociology. "A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home, And they shall travel on to where the two shall be as one. As it was in the beginning is now and 'til the end, Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again. And there is Love, there is Love." "We've only just begun to live, White lace and promises, A kiss for luck and we're on our way..." Neal will be greatly missed by his wife of 46+ years, Francine S. Morrow, her family - Mary Frances Smith "Ma", Bubba Smith, Karen Manges, nieces & nephews, & his caring sister, Marcia Brannon, who unselfishly, sacrificially gave him one of her kidneys, which gave him 22+ years of additional life, truly a precious gift. "Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends..." Fiercely loyal to each of them, Neal was deeply thankful to God for his friends: Ricky, David, Johnnie, Bubba, Alan, Bob, Johnny, Horace, Ronnie, Trd, FrankO, Steve, Tommy, Frazier, Olie, Tom, Jeff, Barry, Richard & Ernie. "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. Now it seems as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday. Suddenly I'm not half the man I used to be. There's a shadow hanging over me. Oh, yesterday came suddenly... now I long for yesterday." Neal worked in various jobs before retiring due to health reasons. We will be forever grateful to his doctors, who saved his life numerous times: Dr. Stephen Rawe, Dr. William Wilson, Dr. Andrew Schreiner, Dr. Prince Anand, Dr. Sudha Tata, Dr. David Ellison, Dr. Pam Allen, & the many phenomenal, caring, & compassionate nurses over the years from Emory, MUSC & Roper, as tenderly exemplified in MUSC's Taylor & Michelle at Roper Hospice. "When you're down & troubled, & you need some lovin care, & nothin, no nothin is goin right, close your eyes & think of me & soon I will be there to brighten up even your darkest night, you just call out my name" One of Neal's spiritual gifts was helping. Although injured at birth which resulted in lifelong health issues, he was always thinking of others & how he could help his family or friends. True to himself, Neal's final act of giving was to donate his body to further medical science. In accordance with Neal's giving spirit, please give the gift of BLOOD. To those in need, it really is priceless. Consider a donation to: 1) your favorite church/charity. 2) the Mason Guest House- a home for transplant patients in Atlanta, GA at Emory Hospital - the GIN Fund. "Now what I'd give for one more day with you, 'Cause there's a wound here in my heart where something's missing, And they tell me that it's gonna heal with time..., "The only scars in Heaven, they won't belong to me & you, There'll be no such thing as broken, and all the old will be made new, And the thought that makes me smile now, even as the tears fall down, Is that the only scars in Heaven are on the hands that hold you now..." A wonderful word from Tom Brown, our pastor of 28+ years - I WOKE UP (safe).... "It is finished. All that is needed to let us close our eyes to sickness, sorrow, separation, expended energy and open our eyes to life...it is finished. Jesus closed his eyes to death and sin and opened them to life and victory. "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit". Safe in the Fathers hands, in His arms. It reminds me of the hands that lifts the child from the sofa and places them lovingly, safely into bed...and waits to see them in the morning." For the rest of Tom's note, please contact F. Morrow. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace". "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." John 8:12 NIV "Though I know I'll never lose affection, For people & things that went before, I know I'll often stop and think about them, In my life I love you more. In my life I loved you more..."
