Arnold Sarmanian Obituary

Arnold Sarmanian, CHARLESTON - Arnold Sarmanian, 99-1/2 years of age, engineer, World War II veteran, and auto enthusiast, left this earth at his home in Charleston, SC, on the evening of September 19, 2022. Son of the late Veronica and Stephen Sarmanian, and brother of the late Gregory (interred at Arlington National Cemetery). Arnold was married 63 years to the late Margaret Frances Sarmanian (Bonomo) and is survived by his son, Stephen, and wife, Janis; daughter, Margaret Veronica Sarmanian and late husband, James W. Hebert. Arnold was grandfather to Jeremy Sarmanian and wife, Mackenzie, and Sarah Hendrix and husband, Ben; and great-grandfather to Connor and Maggie Sarmanian. Arnold graduated from Northeastern University with a BS and Boston University with an MS after serving in both theaters of WWII - Europe and the Pacific. He worked on weapons systems development and human factoring at Raytheon Technologies. Originally from Waltham, MA, Arnold enjoyed his retirement in Monterey, CA, Nantucket, MA, Palm Desert, CA, and more recently in Charleston, SC. Arnold will be interred at Mt. Feake Cemetary, Waltham, MA, aside his parents on October 29, 2022, in a private ceremony.
