Alexandra Spetseris Obituary

Alexandra Yiannaki Spetseris CHARLESTON - Alexandra Yiannaki Spetseris passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 13, 2011, in Kefallonia, Greece. Born on July 20, 1934, in Epiros, Greece, she was the daughter of George and Efstratoula Yiannaki. In 1951, she immigrated to Charleston, SC where she met and married her husband, Jerry Spetseris, and together they raised three children. Alexandra was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family, supporting their numerous activities, fulfilling their needs and always having a loving and caring heart. She was the ultimate Greek mom and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Alexandra is survived by her husband, Jerry Spetseris, her daughters, Maria Gianacakes (George), Theodora Economy (Victor) and her son, Angelo Spetseris (Elizabeth), nine grandchildren, her sister, Kiki Zecopoulos, and many nieces and nephews. I have so many fond memories of Mrs Spetseris and she certainly was the 'ultimate Greek mom'. Love to the Spetseris and Zecopoulos families---May her memory be eternal.
