Albert Gobel Obituary

Albert J. Gobel CHARLESTON - Albert J. Gobel, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Barbara Scott Gobel entered into eternal rest Friday, June 26, 2015. His graveside funeral service will be held, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 30, 2015 J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Al was born October 24, 1922 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Henry F. Gobel and Perrin Roberts Gobel. He was veteran of the United States Coast Guard, having served in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #147, VFW Post #445 and the Charleston Elks Lodge. He was the retired Owner and Operator of Gobel Radio and TV. He is survived by his wife of Charleston; three sons, Jimmy Gobel (Terry) of Charleston, SC, Randy Gobel (Paulette) of Prosperity, SC, and David Gobel (Donna) of Charleston, SC; stepson, Mark Danelon of Charleston, SC; stepdaughter, Tammy Grunfelder of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Erin, Katie, Chris, Jennifer, Gordy, Leigh Ann and Allison; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ellison and Alyssa. He was predeceased by his first wife, Delores. Memorials may be made to VFW Post #445, 1639 Camp Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
