Cheryl--

I am so very sorry to hear of Alan's passing away. Alan was a very special person to all who knew him!
I first met Alan during Little League baseball . He was always a top notch competitor and very well liked and respected by everyone. As I recall ,we later played on the same team during all-star games and became friends.

We were also classmates from 7 th grade until graduation in 1968, and played together for the Greenwave football team during the 1966 & 1967 seasons.
Again, as you already know, Alan was an outstanding football player and was honored by his teammates and coaches as the " Best Defensive" player on the team along with being selected for the Shrine Bowl.

I moved to Georgia soon after High School , so I didn't get to see Alan very often, but when we did see each other it was always with joy in our hearts that we shared the "good old days".

Cheryl, your brother was surely one of God's most noble human beings ,as was evidenced by his character and the number of friends he possessed all through life. He will be missed by so many!

God Bless You !

Cheryl,

Alan was a classmate of mine and I always enjoyed the times our paths crossed. I sent an email to our classmates to let them know about Alan's death and I have had some wonderful emails about Alan in return. He was well liked by all and we will miss him. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this time.

Al seemed to know everyone in Summerville. His life and his memories revolved around Summerville. I have know Al for over 20 years as an aquaintance. Within the last couple of years we became good friends. I worked with him for awhile and him and I got together often to talk.

Al was a fixture in Summerville. Driving around in his Oldsmobile that he was proud to say that he bought when it was new. I will miss his smile and his laugh and the goofy way he would roll his eyes like when he was eating a good meal.

God bless him and he will be missed.

Al and my recently passed husband, Joe Haun, were good friends. They phoned and visited each other on a regular basis. Please accept my sympathy. Joe liked Al so much, and he would want you to know that.

Cheryl, I saw Alan several months ago. He looked good and was very friendly towards me and has always been. You and Anne-Main had some good times together and I know she will never forget you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I didn't know Al personally, I knew him through phone calls at McElveen. Very nice guy. My prayers are with his family in this time of need.
