William Haislip Obituary

North Augusta, SC....... Mr. William G. Haislip, 85, husband of Faye Haislip entered into rest on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at his residence.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 in the J.M. Ford Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Crews officiating. Private interment to follow.

Born on May 1, 1940 in Senath, Missouri and spent most of his childhood in Missouri. He enlisted in the Navy and served two years. After leaving the Navy, he went to live with his dad, who at the time was stationed at Fort Gordon and lived on Wrightsboro Rd in Augusta, GA. Working at Winn Dixie, he met the love of his life, Faye Murphy. They were married on January 14, 1961. After being married "Bill" would work for several companies including the State Hospital in Milledgeville, GA, S.H. Crest and Southern Glassine. However, he would make his career at Augusta Newsprint where he worked 31 years, retiring in 2002.

After retiring to Savannah Lakes, he enjoyed several years of fishing and other outdoor activities on the lake. He also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and grilling out on the back deck. Years later, he moved to North Augusta, SC to be closer to his family. He would go on to pass away at his residence on Orchard Way where his wife had passed 8 months earlier. He was a loving and devoted husband to Faye Haislip for 64 years, and a caring father to his children Bruce and Robin; while completely adoring his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Bruce (Brenda) Haislip, Robin (Stacy) Farmer and grandchildren Andrew (Kala) Haislip, Aaron (Susan) Haislip, Leah (Austin) Fornander, Kristi (Bryan) Carter, Trey Schultzaberger, Sarah Farmer, Chayze Farmer, Lee (Luana) Farmer, Kristen (Jody) Still, Kameron Farmer, Korey (Megan) Farmer, Sommer (Gerald Rowe) Aarial (Logan) Murray, Matthew Starbuck, Travis (Candy) Starbuck, Megan (Tyler) Harman, Kevin Starbuck. His brother Michael Haislip (Pauline LaBlanc) their children: Melissa Haislip Lumley (Tyrone), Amanda Haislip Krieger (Adam). His brother Douglas Ward Haislip and his daughter Janet Leigh Danztler (Kyle); his sister Wanda Haislip Potter (Charles); his brother Langdon Lee Haislip (Frances Chapman), their children Catherine and Richard; his brother William Albine "Butch" Haislip (Patricia) and their children Michelle (Kevin) and Christina Renee (Cofield). He is preceded in death by his wife Faye Haislip, his father William Albine Haislip, his step-mother Margaret Holton Haislip, his mother Beatrice Dunn, his step-father Bill Dunn and his brother Richard Darrell Haislip.

I enjoyed working with Bill on D shift. He was interesting and made the hours pass by quicker. We spoke about many topics. My sincere condolences to his family.
