Mr. Robert "Bob" Dyson Waller
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Mr. Robert "Bob" Dyson Waller, 78, of Courtney Drive went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his residence.
His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2014 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Chaplain Jason Whittaker officiating.
Bob was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 7, 1935 to Midford Davison and Clarissa Virginia Waller. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Midford M. Waller. He met his wife in Wisconsin with whom he was happily married for 44 years.
Bob was a Communications Engineer and worked for telephone companies all over the country, including GTE in Durham, NC where his family lived for 30 years. He loved his family, his profession, his Lionel toy trains, his dogs, cats and previously all the cows and goats on their farm in Roxboro, NC. Bob was the kindest man to everyone he met and could not conceive of cruelty to anyone or anything. He was a true Christian and will never be forgotten or far from the hearts of his loving family all the days of our lives.
Bob was the beloved husband of Susan Waller; loving father to Cathy Leigh LaBreck (John) of Bradenton, FL, Stacy Dee Waller of Tucson, AZ, and Clarissa Waller of Aiken, SC; stepfather to Deidre Ann Marshall of Baraboo, WI and David A. Stowell of Portage, WI; loving grandfather to Jackson Blackmon (Janelle) of Emerald Isle, NC; and great grandfather to Nova Rose and Peter Michael Blackmon. He is also survived by his sister, Edith Ann Cartwright (Bobby) of Palmyra, VA; and his sister-in-law, Dorcas Waller of Elizabeth City, NC.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Wayne Yost, his nurses Garland and Ashley, Dr. Doris Tummillo, and to Dr. Michael Whitlow. In addition, the family holds special gratitude to United Hospice, Nurses Pamela, Candy, Sylvia, Tiffany, and Brittany for all their kindness.
