Robert Bodie Obituary

Trenton, SC – Robert Lee "Bob" Bodie Jr., 47, passed peacefully on January 3rd, 2026 in the comfort of his home with the company of his beloved wife and three sons.

Born July 14, 1978, Bob spent his life in Edgefield County and diligently worked for over 22 years as a Locomotive Engineer across the southeast. Bob grew up enjoying hobbies such as fishing, hunting, riding dirtbikes, and the sport of boxing. In his later years, Bob developed a passion for health and fitness, coaching his wife and three sons, and offering guidance to those he met along their own journeys. He happily passed these, and many other hobbies and interests to his sons, including his love for tattoos and rock/metal music. An avid family man, he dedicated his life to raising a loving family and loved nothing more than to share precious moments with them that most would overlook, always emphasizing the beauty of simplicity and the appreciation we all should have for even the smallest things in life. Bob was known as a talker and loved to reach the ears of even the most unlikely of listeners. He developed a way with words and a gift for conveying emotion that was second to none and appreciated by all of the souls he touched. Bob was not only family to his relatives, he was a brother and father figure to countless people from all walks of life. Whether in a gas station, grocery store, the gym or in a restaurant, anywhere he went Bob either had a friend, or would make a new one before he left. All who knew Bob will remember him as a man who was "always on the go", and who never left a job unfinished. Bob was married to his soul mate, Stephanie Bodie, who was also his best friend and eventual caretaker, happily celebrating 27 years of marriage on January 2nd. He cherished every moment with her, but especially enjoyed vacationing to the beach and relaxing on cruises while taking in all of the beauty life has to offer, as he truly believed life to be beautiful. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Bodie, Sr.

Surviving members of the family left to cherish his memory include his wife of 27 years, Stephanie Bodie; three sons, Dalton, Jagger and Breckin Bodie; son by choice, Jequez Harris; his mother, Sherry Merritt Bodie and three sisters, Michele (Heath) Ray, Crystal (Neil) Busbee and Christine Ellison.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Truenorth Church – Pastor Steve Davis and Mr. Thad Ashley officiating. The family will receive friends and family at Posey Funeral Home Friday evening, January 9th, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
